Sustainability

Nature is the Heart of The Adventurepark.

We are privileged to cohabitate with nature.
With that privilege comes responsibility.
We work according to the Responsible Tourism Program, a framework developed to promote a more sustainable tourism where companies, destinations and municipalities work together for increased environmental responsibility, support more resource-efficient solutions, and strengthen local community development. The program is based on GSTC's global standard for sustainable tourism.
Through the program, improvement initiatives are carried out that benefit visitors and residents alike, create jobs and viable businesses, and take place on the terms of nature and culture. This approach is increasingly important as more and more visitors seek to leave the places they visit in a better condition than they found them.

Bees Pollinate our Forest
Our bees play an important role in the health of our forest. By pollinating flowering plants, shrubs, and trees, they support seed production, plant diversity, and strengthen natural regeneration. Since introducing the hives, we’ve seen more flowers bloom, denser foliage, and more varied plant growth.
When conditions allow, the bees also provide us with honey, which is harvested in small quantities and offered in our shop. The honey has a fantastic and unique taste since the bees collect pollen day and night under the 24 hour midsummer sun.

Birds & Bats
Minimize Mosquitoes
Our birdhouses and bat boxes help sustain the forest’s delicate balance. Birds and bats eat thousands of mosquitoes and other insects each night, naturally keeping populations in check without the use of chemicals. The birds help to spread seeds as they feed, helping new plants take root and increasing the diversity of the forest.
By providing safe homes for these creatures, we support local wildlife while promoting a healthier, more resilient ecosystem. It’s another way nature works alongside us to keep the forest vibrant and alive.

Naturally Filtered Water
Deep underground is a natural water well. This well is filled by water on the forest floor seeping slowly into the soil and rock below. Gravity and pressure cause the water to squeeze through tiny cracks in the soil and rock, creating a natural filter. This clean, filtered water pools deep in the bedrock and is pumped up to the surface for us to use.
We add only a minimal amount of treatment to ensure it is safe for use. And, because the process requires no chemical disposal or large-scale energy, it leaves no harmful impact on the environment.

Reuse & Recycle Construction Material
With heavy use, changing weather, and evolving ideas, our facilities are constantly being maintained, rebuilt, and improved. At any given time, we may be dismantling one structure while building or updating another. During disassembly, we carefully sort and save materials that are still strong, stable, and safe to reuse. We also utilize weathered material for visual features in future projects.
By reusing as much building material as safely as possible, we reduce waste and minimize the environmental footprint of new construction. We believe good materials deserve a second life.

Geothermal Heating
Our buildings are heated using geothermal energy, tapping the natural warmth deep within the Earth. The Earth naturally maintains a relatively stable temperature a few meters below the surface. Deeper layers are even warmer. Even in the cold Northern Swedish winters, the Earth provides a stable and reliable heat source.
We utilize this natural heat by circulating water through pipes far below the ground surface, where it absorbs heat from the ground before returning to radiators to heat up rooms. This method is highly efficient, uses far less energy than conventional heating and produces minimal emissions.
